Delafu Development · an iPhone app studio

Software that doesn't want anything from you.

I build iPhone apps. No ads, nothing sold on, and nothing built to punish you for missing a day — you pick one up, it does its job, and you're left holding something worth having.

Where this comes from

I'm David de la Fuente. I'm a mechatronics engineer — more than ten years on automotive systems, and still at it. This isn't the thing I left engineering for; it's the thing I do after hours.

It's the kind of engineering where something either functions or it stops an entire production line. You don't get to ship a thing that works most of the time and patch it afterwards, so you spend your days on the parts nobody will ever see — the tolerances, the edge cases, the failure modes — because those are the ones that break things.

That habit of care is what I bring here. I like knowing a thing is built properly underneath, even where nobody will ever look.

What I didn't want was to build more machinery. I wanted to make things that feel human — warm, unhurried, not tugging at you every few minutes. Tools, really. You pick a tool up, it does its job, you put it down, and you're left holding something worth having: the work you actually did today, or your grandmother telling the story about the house, kept in her own voice.

Almost nothing I use is built that way any more, which is most of the reason I started.

Chamba

In development

PathMarkfour runs, four lanes

A to-do list assumes you are the same person every day. You are not.

Chamba starts by asking how you actually are — energized, in flow, meh, drained, anxious — and matches three to five tasks to that answer across four fixed energy lanes. The same backlog produces genuinely different suggestions depending on how you check in. That is state-based matching, not filtering or sorting, and it is the thing a neighbouring to-do app cannot copy by adding a filter.

For
Adults with ADHD who already gave up on static lists
The lanes
Urgent, Passion, Challenge, Maintenance — fixed, and load-bearing in the logic, not just the paint
Storage
On the device. No cloud sync of any kind, permanently.
Refuses
Streaks, XP, achievements, clock times, calendars — the last two were built and then deleted on purpose

Relato

In development
Relato's mark: two hands rising into a trunk made of a voice waveform, under a canopy of leaves

The treea voice, held, growing

One gentle question a week, answered out loud by someone older than you.

You sit with them, the app shows this week's question, and you hand them the phone. They tap once and talk — never press and hold, because tremor and fatigue make held gestures hostile. Silence is treated as sacred: it stops generously late rather than cutting them off. What's kept is the voice, not a transcript of it. The transcript is a helper; the audio is the truth.

For
A family that wants to keep its stories, in the voice they were told in
Designed for
A nervous 75-year-old: one screen, one action, large type, no held gestures anywhere
Kept as
Audio in their own voice, with an editable best-effort transcript beside it
Yours
Full export, always free, in open formats — even if you never paid
Refuses
Streaks, "you missed a week", badges, analytics, and any public anything
